The ‘Violmaster’ company is based in Hong Kong and they deal in the full range of orchestral instruments. The instruments themselves are almost certainly made in one or other of the mainland violin making centres of China and, typical of Chinese output, this cello punches well above its weight in quality.

The back plate is of two pieces of beautiful flamed maple with similar wood in the sides and head; the two-piece top plate of equally impressive quality and all is covered in a warm brown varnish, laid over a light gold ground.

A super, very attractive, intermediate level, cello in great condition, set-up to our ‘Master’ standard with Larsen strings would suit advancing students aiming for Grade 8 and above.
